Chief Operating Officer, Private Wealth Management
Murrey Wanstrath serves as Chief Operating Officer for Tolleson Private Wealth Management. His primary responsibilities include the strategic and operational leadership of Tolleson Private Wealth Management’s day to day operations, with a focus on evaluating and developing consistency of processes which allows the firm’s employees to deliver unparalleled client service. Responsibilities also include developing and implementing the firm’s technology strategy, ensuring alignment with the long term business strategy of Tolleson Wealth Management. In addition, Murrey serves on the firm’s Executive, Investment and IT Steering Committees.
Prior to his role as Chief Operating Officer, he was Director of Investments, which involved oversight and execution of the firm’s long only equity and private equity investments.
Murrey joined the firm in 2011 from Terra Nova Financial Group, a portfolio company controlled by Bonanza Capital, where he served as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer. While at Terra Nova he was responsible for all business and financial operations, as well as, IT operations and Human Resources. Mr. Wanstrath previously acted as Managing Director with Bonanza Capital. While at Bonanza he was primarily responsible for identifying and executing investment opportunities within the Industrial sector consistent with a fundamental bottoms-up value orientation. In addition, Mr. Wanstrath was a senior equity analyst for Hibernia Southcoast Capital and a manager in the transaction services group for Ernst & Young.
Mr. Wanstrath is a Certified Public Accountant* (CPA) and has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, and graduated from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting.
