On Saturday, May 7, employees from Tolleson Wealth Management carpooled across Dallas visiting lemonade stands in support of Lemonade Day Dallas. According to its website, Lemonade Day “is a free, fun, experiential learning program that teaches youth how to start, own and operate their own business.”

Tolleson Wealth Management sponsored a preliminary Capital for Kids CONNECT promotional event in March to help increase awareness and volunteerism among young financial professionals. Employees spent the next month volunteering with the young entrepreneurs and helped prepare them for their lemonade stands. On May 7, employees visited nine stands around the city, engaging children in conversation about their lemonade businesses and what causes they were raising money for. Many of the children planned to use their profits to donate to local non-profit organizations like Vogel Alcove, Mercy Street and Boys and Girls Club of Dallas.

“I enjoy giving back to the community by promoting events like Lemonade Day that provides our next generation with basic entrepreneurial skills to become successful,” said Austin Reynolds, Senior Investment Analyst at Tolleson Wealth Management and Capital for Kids CONNECT Board Member. Lemonade Day not only created great team building among employees, but also helped support and empower the entrepreneurs of tomorrow.
