Private Wealth Management Interns Begin their Summer Virtually

Each summer, Tolleson Wealth Management offers a private wealth management internship to rising college seniors, teaching them about the inner workings of a multi-family office. The interns receive hands-on experience as they rotate through different departments in the firm. This year, private wealth interns John Luger and Megan Shipman begin their first day virtually.

John is pursuing a finance major and accounting minor from Texas Christian University (TCU) in Fort Worth, Texas. He enjoys learning about the market and the different ways people can invest. “The financial industry can be complicated, and it’s been nice getting a deeper understanding of how it works,” says John. Megan is also studying finance with a minor in financial planning at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. She is currently taking an insurance and estate planning course and says she loves the “feeling of having to fit the “puzzle pieces” of a financial plan together.”

Megan’s professor recommended exploring an internship at Tolleson Wealth Management and she was immediately drawn to the firm’s philosophy of ‘simplifying the complex.’ While John was interested in the internship program because of the firm’s dedication helping others and serving in the community. They are both excited to integrate themselves into the firm’s culture, learn about the unique work of a multi-family office, and make lasting relationships.

Tolleson Wealth Management is committed to developing young talent and is happy to be able to continue the summer internship program remotely. Both Megan and John complimented the adaptability and efficiency of starting their internship remotely. “I am impressed with the integration of all the software Tolleson Wealth Management uses to accomplish remote work; I can already tell the tools will be incredibly powerful in working efficiently and effectively from home,” says Megan.
