Our thoughts are with the police officers, their families and those affected by the tragedy in downtown Dallas on June 7. If you are interested in supporting the relief efforts, our Philanthropy Services Team has compiled information regarding the best ways to help and donate.

Monetary donations through a qualified charity are the most efficient way to support the wounded and fallen officers and their families. Assist the Officer Foundation provides financial assistance to Dallas Police Department officers facing the loss of income due to a serious injury or other catastrophic event. Immediate assistance is also available to an officer’s family in the event of the death of an active officer. The organization also provides free, confidential counseling to officers.

To ensure that your charitable dollars will be used wisely and effectively, donations should be made to well-established, qualified charities with a proven track record. Too often, fraudulent organizations or accounts on crowdfunding sites that look like legitimate charities are set up to accept donations from well-meaning people to support fallen officers and their families.
