Managing Director, Estate and Trust Strategist
Kal Grant serves as a Managing Director, Estate and Trust Strategist for Tolleson Wealth Management. She works closely with clients and their counsel on optimal creation, use and coordination of estate planning techniques. She counsels clients regarding trust administration practices, including assisting in trustee succession and governance processes. Kal also leads Philanthropy Services, a team of experienced professionals providing non-profit clients with strategies to meet their administrative, structural and investment needs.
Prior to joining Tolleson Wealth Management, Kal was a Managing Director with the JPMorgan Private Bank. While in private practice, she was a partner with Thompson & Knight, LLP. She began her legal career with McAfee & Taft in Oklahoma City.
Kal earned a Bachelor of Business Administration at Southern Methodist University, where she was a Presidents Scholar, University Scholar and National Merit Scholar. She obtained a law degree at Texas Tech University as a Regents Scholar, graduating summa cum laude. She returned to Southern Methodist University to complete a Masters of Law in Taxation. Kal serves as a board member for the Dallas Council of Charitable Gift Planners and ChildCareGroup. She is a member of the advisory board of Communities Foundation of Texas and the Southern Methodist University Planned Giving Council and serves as a volunteer for Texas Lawyers Helping Lawyers.
