Announcing Eric Bennett as Chief Investment Officer
Eric Bennett will rejoin Tolleson Wealth Management as Chief Investment Officer (CIO), returning to the firm that he co-founded with John Tolleson in 2000.
Eric originally joined the Tolleson family in the late ‘90s to start a single family office, which ultimately became Tolleson Wealth Management. Eric served as the Chief Executive Officer and CIO, where he was instrumental in creating the firm’s investment strategy and approach. Eric remained in that role until 2012, when he left to join the Center for Brain Health and led the development of the new and ambitious Brain Performance Institute. During that time, he remained a member of the Board of Directors of Tolleson Wealth Management and continued his service on the firm’s Investment Committee.
“We performed an extensive nationwide search talking to some of the brightest investment minds from around the country,” Carter Tolleson said. “Throughout the process, Eric was serving as ‘interim’ CIO. It became obvious to us that Eric was the best person for the job. In addition to his investment expertise, he brings deep knowledge and experience working with high-net worth families. Bringing Eric back to Tolleson Wealth Management in this important role is a big win for the firm and a bigger one for our client families.”
Eric’s background includes more than 30 years in the wealth management and investment industry. He began his career with Coopers and Lybrand in 1987 after earning a finance degree with honors from the University of Missouri. He later joined the Dallas office of Ernst & Young, where he led the firm’s Southwest Area Investment Advisory Services Team.
He is a Chartered Financial Analyst, Certified Public Accountant* and Personal Financial Specialist. Eric has also given back to the community through his investment expertise, serving on investment committees for The Dallas Symphony, Communities Foundation of Texas and Baylor University.
We are excited to welcome Eric back to Tolleson Wealth Management and its Investment Team.
