Black Friday is known for good deals and slashed prices; however, this year it is a chance to give back. Many stores and companies take Black Friday’s increased sales as an opportunity to donate portions of their sales to philanthropic organizations. Now, it is possible to get holiday shopping done while also benefitting the community and planet.*

Our Philanthropy Services Team compiled their recommendations on how to shop to give back:

REI

Since 2015, they have closed their doors on the busiest shopping day of the year to #OptOutside. They encourage everyone to spend time outdoors.

Everlane

For every order placed on Black Friday, the store will donate $15 to Oceana with a goal of raising $200,000 to clean up plastic from the ocean.

Toms

Toms gives back year-round with their one-to-one giving model. For every pair of shoes or glasses sold, they will donate one pair to someone in need across the world.

Love Your Melon

50% of net profit from sales is given to nonprofits in support of charitable programing and research in the fight against pediatric cancer.

Amazon Smile

Make sure all your amazon shopping is done through amazon smile. All the same products and same log in, but .5% of your purchases is donated to your charity of choice.

*You will not receive a tax deduction for this type of giving.
