Susan Claycombe
Susan Claycombe is a Director on the Client Advisory Team at Tolleson Wealth Management. She serves as a primary advisor and works closely with wealthy families to navigate all things financial. By creating a customized approach based on client goals, she coordinates a wide range of services to help manage, sustain, and grow wealth while maintaining a family’s identity and character.
Prior to joining Tolleson, Susan co-founded and led Filoli Capital, a private family investment office established following a significant family liquidity event. For more than 17 years, she oversaw investment strategy, governance, succession planning, and the coordination of a broad range of wealth management services. Her experience spans investment oversight, estate planning, philanthropy, tax strategy, risk management, and family education, providing her with a comprehensive perspective on multigenerational wealth stewardship.
Susan received her B.B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin and her M.B.A. from Southern Methodist University. Her background also includes advising Fortune 500 companies, which honed a sophisticated understanding of complex organizations, negotiation, and fiduciary responsibility. Complementing her professional work, Susan serves on multiple nonprofit and endowment boards, where she oversees investment strategy, legacy giving, and long-term sustainability. She is originally from Dallas and enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.
