Tolleson Wealth Management was listed in Dallas Business Journal as the second largest wealth management firm in North Texas based on assets under management. With a 3:1 client-to-advisor ratio and six additional teams dedicated to various specialty areas, the firm has extended its multi-family office offering to take care of all things financial for clients and their families.

Chief Investment Officer Eric Bennett oversees the investment strategy for the firm and is the Chairman of the Investment Committee. He spoke with the Dallas Business Journal about the current investment environment of a variety of modern family offices. “There is a lot of interest from family offices in other riskier investment ideas like venture capital, digital currencies and electronic sports,” explained Bennett. The article continues by explaining that “these kinds of deals, known in the business as direct investments, have become more of a necessity for family offices who want to get more creative at a time when finding returns has become more challenging.”

According to a 2018 InvestmentNews study, the largest struggle advisory firms face now is scaling their organization. Tolleson Wealth Management seeks to enhance the client experience by finding multi-disciplinary approaches that address the complexities of wealth. These opportunities allow the firm to professionalize and develop teams so that scaling is possible but not damaging to the firm’s core value of service. The single-family model that the Tolleson family started remains a key part of the way the firm operates today.

Firms were ranked based on assets under management and number of clients. The information in this ranking was obtained from individual companies through questionnaires through the Dallas Business Journal. Each year, the Dallas Business Journal surveys wealth management firms in the region. This year 87 inquiries were sent out and 22 firms responded. Tolleson Wealth Management did not pay for this award.
