Tolleson Wealth Management Celebrates 2021 Promotions
Tolleson Wealth Management celebrated 17 promotions in January, including recognizing four prominent leadership roles and a new director on its Client Advisory Team. Despite tackling many new challenges in 2020 brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, the executive team continued to validate the importance of its people in carrying out the firm’s core mission of serving clients with all things financial.
“We will continue to manage our business, invest in our people, and make investments in the necessary resources,” CEO Carter Tolleson said to employees during the early months of the pandemic. “We plan to press forward and come out of this [pandemic] stronger by retaining our people, staying laser-focused on our clients and their needs, improving our efficiency, and managing our resources carefully.” Nealy one year into mask-wearing, meeting from six-feet apart, and embracing virtual communication tools, Tolleson’s words still ring true. Employees continue to play a vital role in pushing the firm forward and the executive team is proud to recognize those who stepped up and took on additional responsibilities.
Promotions included Andrea Hulcy to Chief Financial Officer; Michael Wagner to Managing Director, Fixed Income; Christine Finn to Managing Director, Private Trust; and Owen Smith to Managing Director, Business Applications. CJ Camerato, who started his career as an intern with the firm in 2011, received his third career promotion to Director on the Client Advisory Team.
These, along with 12 other promotions across various departments, were recognized during an online celebration where each person was featured individually for their valuable contributions. “Recognizing our people and investing in their careers is important to our growth and theirs, even more so during trying times. The accomplishments of these individuals during a pandemic were remarkable,” said Tracie Klein, Chief Administrative Officer.
The firm is pleased to recognize its new CFO and three new managing directors across the following departments:
Andrea Hulcy joined the firm at the start of 2020 as Vice President, Finance. Bringing more than 30 years of experience to her role, she quickly assumed leadership of the firm’s corporate finance team and implemented efficient systems. As CFO, her responsibilities include managing the finance and accounting functions for Tolleson Wealth Management’s consolidated group.
Michael Wagner is promoted to Managing Director, Fixed Income on the Investment Team. He oversees investments in individually managed taxable and tax-exempt bond portfolios. Wagner joined the firm in 2016 bringing more than 30 years of investment knowledge and experience to his role. He was essential in 2020 navigating the COVID-19-related risks and opportunities in investment credit portfolios. Michael’s experience and wisdom plays a vital role when navigating and communicating current economy, credit, and overall financial markets.
Christine Finn is promoted to Managing Director, Private Trust for Tolleson Private Bank. She began with the firm in 2016 as co-head of the Trust department and quickly established herself as a valuable resource and capable leader. After taking over as head of the Private Trust Team, she oversaw the department’s growth and addition of new team members. She will continue to lead the team as they help clients with multi-generational planning.
Owen Smith is promoted to Managing Director, Business Applications. He began with the firm in 2007 on the Client Advisory Team before transitioning in 2011 to help build the firm’s technology and operations department. In his new role, he will continue to lead his team in analyzing business applications, implementing new software, and shaping how the firm uses new technologies.
